Research

Since 1993 I am a professor at the Visual Communication Department of the Fine Arts School - Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.

Research is an ongoing activity, not only to create synergy, but also to bring new knowledge to the academic community.

Research Master of Arts in Design

In 2017 I relocated to Bern and started to research the Master Program of Arts in Design at the Bern University of the Arts (HKB). The goal was to learn how the Swiss Graduate System and especially the Design Master Program of HKB were conceived.  With the generous support of Robert Lzicar (the Head of the Design Master Program) and Arne Scheuerman (Head of the Institute of Design Research), I was able to research for two years, which allowed me to observe a full program cycle, acquiring valuable information to support and further develop the academic activities of my department.

Research Service Design

Last year, collaborating with a fellow Brazilian professor, I boarded his research on Service Design. Our goal is to set up a benchmark by mirroring data acquisition, initially in Brazil and Switzerland and then to expand it to other countries and cultures. This will help us to propose new areas of knowledge to be considered in design courses curriculum, in order to enable students to face the increasing challenges of the career.
